1. WHO IS COLLECTING AND PROCESSING MY DATA?
Members of the veterinary Parasitology group at the University of Bristol will collect your data with a commitment protecting and respecting your privacy and complying with the obligations of the General Data Protection Regulations. This will be achieved by storing it for the minimum time necessary and destroying it securely at the end of the study. While held, it will be protected from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, and disclosure by ensuring that appropriate measures are in place to keep it protected. Your data will not be shared with any other people or organisations. If you have any questions about how your data will be processed, please contact El Graves or the research governance team at the University of Bristol via email: El Graves: el.graves.2018@bristol.ac.uk University of Bristol Research Governance: research-governance@bristol.ac.uk
2. WHAT DATA IS BEING COLLECTED/PROCESSED AND HOW WILL IT BE USED?
As part of this research project, we will collect/process the following data:
- Your name, postcode and contact details (email/telephone). Please note we will use these details to contact you by email or telephone in relation to the monthly survey.
- Farm/Holding type
- Farm Type: Organic/Conventional, Beef/Dairy and grazing System
- Veterinary Practice Name
- Parasiticide use; frequency, class, method of administration, proportion of herd treated, age class of animals treated
The data will be used to generate a computer simulation model to estimate the effects of parasiticides on invertebrate decomposer populations.
3. LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING CONSENT is the lawful basis for processing your personal data for research. By providing this consent, participants agree to sharing information relating to parasiticide use with: El Graves (the student carrying out the project) Richard Wall & Chris Clements (The project supervisors)
4. WHO WILL MY DATA BE SHARED WITH?
Your personal data will only be used for the purposes stated and will be accessed only by those parties listed above (3. Legal Basis for Processing). Once analysed and anonymised the collected data will be used as the basis for research publications which will help inform best-practice use of parasiticides. In doing this it will be ensured that participants and their farms cannot be identified, including in relation to location data and from geographical features.
5. HOW LONG WILL MY DATA BE STORED FOR?
Your personal data (as described above) will be held for the duration of the project and will be securely destroyed at the end of the project. (1st November 2022 – 1stNovember 2025)
6. WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF YOU DON'T PROVIDE DATA?
There are no consequences of not providing data for this research. Participation is voluntary and there will be no financial benefit from taking part.
7. WHAT ARE MY RIGHTS AND CAN I WITHDRAW CONSENT?
You are free to withdraw at any time during the study and free to withdraw your data prior to publication. You do not need to give a reason for withdrawal. You can contact El Graves using the details on the home page.
