Sustainable use of parasiticides in cATTLE

For a sustainable farming future

Worming and insecticide treatments are important, but cost farmers a significant amount of money. These treatments can also have a negative effect on the insects that live in dung.  These insects are important for pasture health.  In fact, dung dwelling insects save the cattle industry £367 million per year (Beynon et al., 2015), by reducing the need for fertilisers and parasite treatments!  We are looking at patterns of wormer and insecticide treatment in the UK, so we can help farmers decide what treatments are best for both their livestock and the environment.

To do this we need your help to get data on when, where, and how many treatments are being applied. To take part you would need to fill in a monthly survey that will take 2-3 minutes.
